What is a Licensed Professional Counselor?

A Licensed Psychologist must have a Doctorate degree in a psychology, complete an approved internship, have a minimum of one year of supervised post-graduate experience, and pass a national licensure examination. Licensed Psychologist are trained and licensed in the practice of psychotherapy and assessment.

What is Dr. Viene's training and experience?

Dr. Viene earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. He also graduated from the University of Missouri - Kansas City with Education Specialist degree with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. Dr. Viene, also, acquired advance specialized training in the therapeutic uses of clinical hypnosis. Dr. Viene completed a supervised internship in clinical hypnosis. He was supervised by a Licensed Psychologist during this training.

He has over 20 years of experience with a broad range of mental health and relational issues. Dr. Viene has provided individual and group therapy in both mental health and substance abuse treatment. He has worked with adolescents, adults, couples , families, and the elderly. My areas of special interest include; stress reduction, anxiety disorders, health psychology , and environmental psychology.

You have the right to be treated with respect and courtesy at all times. You have the right to express your thoughts and feelings about your therapy issues, your therapist, therapitic approach, to change therapists, or to discontinue therapy whenever you choose. It is your responsibility to raise any questions or concerns you may have.

Psychologist practicing psychotherapy for a fee must be licensed with the State Board of Psychologist Examiners for the protection of the public health and safety . Licensure of an individual with the board does not include recognition of any practice standards, nor necessarily imply the effectiveness of any treatment. However, Dr. Viene was awarded Regence BC/BS Ace Award for being a highly effective therapist.

What is Mr. Viene's therapeutic orientation?

Dr. Viene uses an integrative therapeutic approach that emphasizes the humanistic aspects and uniqueness of each individual. His approach utilizes your strengths while identifying difficulties that have hindered your ability to take full advantage of your potential. He explores with you repetitive themes, recurring situations and behavioral patterns. Together you will work on resolving difficult issues to promote increased self­ awareness, understanding, and a state of well-being. Dr. V iene will assist you in developing effective ways of relating to yourself and others.

Additional Clinical Training

Mr. Viene has completed the requirements for a Doctoral degree. He has completed a Clinical Psychology Internship at the Everett Clinic in Everett, WA. Interns are supervised by a Licensed Psychologist at the clinic. Further, Mr. Viene has completed a Clinical Residency in Oregon where he was also, supervised by a Licensed Psychologist.
